Dr Anwara Ali MBE is a General Practitioner Principal and Partner responsible for running a large GP Practice in London. She has over 20 years’ experience as a Doctor and as a Tutor to medical students, trainee doctors, pharmacists and advanced nurse practitioners. She is also the Chairman of East End Health Network Co Ltd., a Primary Care Network. The primary care organisations Dr Ali is responsible for provides healthcare services to approximately 50,000 patients. Dr Ali was instrumental in establishing the first pilot of Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets a model that subsequently has been adopted as national NHS policy. In the 2018 New Year’s Honours list Dr Ali was awarded an MBE for services to Community Healthcare. She received her MBE from HRH Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. That same year she was also awarded a British Community Honours Award which she received at the House of Lords in Westminster. In 2020 Dr Ali founded and is the current Chairman of the British Health Alliance (BHA), a health think tank with close connections to members of the UK Government. Speakers at webinars organised by the BHA have included UK government cabinet ministers and highly regarded doctors who are top in their fields of practice.
In addition to her significant contribution to the field of medicine, Dr Ali has substantial business experience having
been a non-executive director for two multinational companies one of which is headquartered in London’s Canary
Wharf.
Dr Ali has a long history of involvement in civic life including involvement in politics, appearing in the media, and
fundraising and volunteering for charitable organisations.
Her recent political experience includes standing for election as the Conservative Party’s Executive Mayoral candidate
in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets in 2018 and as an MP candidate in the Harrow West constituency of the
London Borough of Harrow in 2019. She has close affiliations with senior members of the Conservative government
having campaigned and fundraised for the Party since 2010.
Dr Ali receives regular requests to appear in the media. She is a regular media commentator on current affairs involving
Health and Politics for the BBC, Sky News, MATV, Channel S, ATN Bangla, BBC Asian Network and various other
radio and TV Channels.
An active volunteer and fundraiser for a number of charities, Dr Ali’s main charitable interest is the alleviation of
illiteracy and child poverty across the globe; she fundraises and volunteers for a number of children’s charities. In the
past, she served as executive director of the Olympic Legacy List and was a board member of Canary Wharf Education
Trust in London.
In her free time, Dr Ali enjoys reading, traveling, swimming and hiking with her husband and son.

In the 2018 New Year’s Honours list Dr. Anwara Ali was awarded an MBE for services to Community Healthcare and also received a British Community Honours Award.
Standing for “Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire”, an MBE is the third highest ranking Order of the British Empire award (excluding a knighthood/damehood), behind CBE and then OBE. The MBE is awarded for an outstanding achievement or service to the community which has had a long-term, significant impact. Living in London for 45 years and also educated in London all the way through to medical school. Dr Anwara Ali always had a keen interest in politics and has been actively involved from a very young age. She has worked with two international London Based companies and helped to take the operations of one of these businesses from seven to nineteen markets. She has been responsible for two large public bodies which are in receipt of £3million of public funding. Together these organisations deliver healthcare services to approximately 50,000 residents across United Kingdom. She is the first pupil from her state school to become a Doctor and the second Tower Hamlets GP since 1945 to receive an MBE. She is a fresh pair eyes with a new vision having exceptional skills and experience, gained both nationally and internationally.
